We all know or have heard of the terms Climate Change and Global Warming but how many of us actually stop to think about it or even take notice out of our busy lives and schedules. Many just think, "I wont be here when things start to change, so why should I be bothered?" or others think "it wont effect us so it's alright". The truth is the effects of climate change and global warming can happen anywhere or anytime. Take a look at the Polar Vortex in the US, who could have predicted that sudden change?
So you should be bothered...Shouldn't You?
It isn't alright is it?
The thing is it may be hard for us to change the effects now but it isn't too late to adapt. There are so many possible way to reduce our carbon emissions across the globe. We just have to be innovative and creative about it. The word "renewable" is like a word people don't like to use especially our governments. We need to stop being so ignorant, selfish or even stubborn about using clean, renewable or sustainable technologies. Even the notion of NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) is becoming a buzz word but it's also a useless word. I mean is it really your backyard? There's plenty of clean, renewable and sustainable technologies out there and even if you don't like the ones already out there be innovative and create more feasible better looking ones, then why would there be any issue of "it doesn't look nice in my back yard".
Although energy demand is increasing our global governments are finding easier ways to provide large amounts of energy. They even have the idea that nuclear is a big deal. Nuclear may provide large amounts of energy but as can been seen or heard about in regards to the nuclear explosion in japan it really isn't safe. I mean, if natural disasters where to happen or even if something where to go wrong within these plants what hope will there be. Our planet will just be filled with radiation is that the type of world you want to live in. A world where you always have to wonder whether you'll be safe from all these disasters?
The Chernobyl Disaster may have been many years ago as seen from the short video above and many may think it only happened once it was a long time ago and it wont happen again but most recently the Fukushima nuclear disaster occurred when an earthquake hit japan.
Radioactive substance can leak for miles and miles and it affects many people and so much can read or heard about if we actually take the time to take notice. So the question is are you sure your safe? and are you sure you governments are implementing the right policies and technologies?
Many make think this is just here to scare people away and that one shouldn't be selfish, but if you actually take the time to stop and think of the various other possibilities it is easy to understand that we are and our global governments are going about things in the wrong way.
Clean, renewable and sustainable technologies are a thing of the future and they should be something we move toward right now! Not tomorrow or in a year or after a decade because who knows what tomorrow will hold?
There are so many benefits to using the right technologies and of course there will also be concerns and issues, you can't have one without the other but if we do no act now what hope or what future will there be left for the newer generations.
Raise awareness, do what you can, speak up, make a change. We all have a voice but sometimes we just don't realise how much of a voice we have.
On this note I end this blog with a short but on the point clip, enjoy :-):
